Joining ASB? After you’ve chosen your everyday banking account and filled out the Join ASB form, you’ll need to confirm your identity. If you have a NZ driver licence, NZ passport or Australian passport you can do this with our ASB ID app. You’ll be able to join ASB at anytime from anywhere.

The app will ask you to take a photo of your photo ID, and then take a selfie. The details from your photo ID will be checked against records held by trusted external providers and your selfie will be biometrically compared to the photo on your ID.

To use the ASB ID app you need to be a new ASB customer and have completed the Join ASB form. Use the username and password created in the Join ASB form to login to the app. Follow the step by step instructions to confirm your identity using the ASB ID app.

Once your identity has been verified and confirmed, you don’t need this app anymore. Download our ASB Mobile Banking app to manage your transactions and pay your bills on the go.
