    应用描述

RF Path provides propagation loss calculations for radio frequencies (RF) between 20 MHz and 20 GHz using either the Irregular Terrain model, Okumura-Hata model, COST-231 Hata Extension model, or the COST-231 Walfish-Ikegami model. The calculations are based on both electromagnetic theory and the statistical analysis of terrain characteristics to calculate the degradation of the RF wave as a function of distance and the variability of the RF wave with respect to time and space.

The Irregular Terrain Model has two different prediction models. One is the Area Prediction mode which calculates propagation losses over an area where the exact terrain parameters are not known, but approximated using terrain roughness, environmental parameters and statistical parameters.

The second is a point-to-point mode where specific latitude/longitude pair values are entered for both transmitter and receiver. Environmental parameters and statistical parameters are also used in this prediction mode.

The results may be saved to iCloud, emailed, or posted to Facebook or Twitter. The results are in CSV format.

In the Area Prediction mode a table along with a graph shows the path loss over the distance entered into the settings. The graph is viewed by rotating the device once the results table is shown.

In the Point-To-Point Prediction mode a table along with a graph shows the path loss and elevation profile of the RF path.

    更新日志

    Version 2.1 adds:
    - Ability to turn plots on or off on the graphs for area predictions and point-to-point predictions.
    - Check for Internet connection before calculating point-to-point prediction.

    Version 2.0 added:
RF Path now provides Point-To-Point path loss predictions between two latitude/longitude pairs (transmitter and receiver) in addition to providing general RF path loss predictions for an area coverage.

The Point-To-Point predictions use the latitude/longitude pairs to retrieve the terrain profile between the points then calculates the loss prediction along that path.

The transmitter and receiver locations may be set by either entering the latitudes and longitudes (in decimal format) directly into the input fields, or by selecting locations on a map.

To set the transmitter and receiver locations on the map, first move the map the desired location then perform a long-press to first set the transmitter location. Move the map to the desired receiver location and perform a second long-press on the map to set the receiver location. Either location may be re-selected by using the "Remove Transmitter", "Remove Receiver", or "Remove All".

After one of the locations is selected on the map a line is drawn from the set location to the second location on the map.

Once the results are displayed, rotate your device to display a graph depicting the results. The graph for the area prediction shows the free space loss and the path loss for the confidence levels entered. The graph for the point-to-point prediction shows the free space loss, the path loss along the path, and the terrain profile.
