We are thrilled to announce the latest update to RocketRoute FlightPlan! This release brings new features and improvements to enhance your flight planning experience.
What's New:
1. Grid MORA Layer: We've added a Grid MORA (Minimum Off-Route Altitude) layer on the map. You can now toggle this layer on and off in the Map Overlays menu, providing you with essential altitude information for safe flight planning.
2. SID and STAR Selector: In the Autorouter settings, you can now select Standard Instrument Departures (SID) and Standard Terminal Arrival Routes (STAR). This allows pilots to set the SID and/or STAR for the routing engines to use, giving you more control over your flight routes.
3. Crash and Stability Fixes: We've made several crash and stability fixes to improve the overall performance and reliability of the app.

Our latest update to RocketRoute FlightPlan offers several helpful UX/UI enhancements and features to make the app easier to use and more valuable to pilots and aviators. Along with these updates, we've also optimized the performance engine that processes flight information in FlightPlan. This performance update helps speed up data validation and interaction within the app to optimize screen time and usage.
What's New in 7.12.0:
Customizable Airspace Slider:
- Tailored Visualization: Adjust the airspace display to your specific needs by setting both lower and upper boundaries.
- Focus on Relevant Information: Filter out unnecessary airspace data, providing a clearer and more focused view.
- Improved Situational Awareness: Gain better control over the information presented, enhancing your understanding of the surrounding airspace.
Streamlined Data Manager:
- Centralized Access: Find all relevant data information in one convenient location.
- User-Friendly Interface: Easily navigate and understand the presented data.
- Efficient Workflow: Access critical data quickly and easily, streamlining your planning process.
Runway in Route String: Users can now include the runway in the route string. The runway should be placed before the SID and after the STAR, separated by a dot “.”. For example: 01L.SID TERMINATOR DCT ENROUTE ... TERMINATOR STAR.02R.
- Syntax: The runway name/identifier consists of 2 digits followed by an optional letter (L, R, or C).
- SIDSTARs Without Runways: SIDSTARs without runways will continue to function using the existing common route logic, ensuring compatibility with previous versions.
